Infrared thermal camera core is a device that can output infrared images after integrating infrared detectors with lenses, signal processing and image processing algorithms. Infrared camera core products can be divided into uncooled and cooled according to the difference of infrared detectors.
There are many interfaces for infrared camera core products. When integrators choose infrared products, they usually have doubts why so many interfaces are developed and what is the significance of each different interface.
The interface of thermal camera core is usually divided into communication interface, video interface and power interface. The communication interface mainly adopts serial interface, including UART and USB interface. In this article we mainly introduce the UART interface.
The full name of the UART interface is Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter), which is the RS232/422/495 interface. The UART interface adopts a serial communication method. Since the communication line is simple, and a pair of transmission lines realizes two-way communication, which greatly reduces the cost and is suitable for interconnection between devices, but the transmission speed is relatively slow.
The serial interface is usually used as the communication interface of infrared camera module for upgrading and debugging, so many infrared thermal camera cores will reserve this interface.
Infrared camera module usually indicates the electrical standard and protocol of the serial interface to facilitate subsequent development and integration by integrators.
RS-232 serial interface: short communication distance and relatively slow speed
RS-422 serial interface: single machine sends and multiple machines receive, and the transmission speed is fast
RS-422 serial interface: multi-point two-way communication.
