Medical Infrared Thermal Imaging Technology

Medical infrared thermal imaging is a physical inspection technology that utilizes surface infrared radiation distribution of the patient to research the temperature state of the body surface. It has been widely used in medical field due to its non-contact, radiation free, green and painless advantages. Infrared thermal imaging technology focuses the infrared radiation of the human body onto an infrared detector through an optical system, and produces electrical signals, which are finally transformed into a pseudo color heat map through image processing technology.

1. Early prevention

Infrared thermal imaging technology can detect the location, nature, and severity of human diseases without causing any harm to the human body. It provides a reference basis for clinical diagnosis and can be the preferred method for screening health, sub health, and major diseases.

2. Special health examination

Medical infrared thermal imaging can comprehensively and systematically evaluate the health state of various systems in the human body, and conduct specialized examinations for specific diseases and functions.

3. Diagnosis of skin diseases

Infrared thermal imaging technology is able to diagnose skin diseases effectively, for example, checking the patient's frostbite area. Because there is no blood supply to the frostbitten area and the local temperature is relatively low, this temperature difference can be clearly reflected in the thermal image.

4. Design and manufacturing of medical devices

During operation, the temperature of metal devices will make certain impact on the surrounding tissues of the patient. Infrared thermal imaging technology can comprehensively detect the temperature of medical devices, helping doctors to select suitable devices.
A wafer-level packaged infrared detector based on GSTiR, with a smaller overall size and lower integration costs, helps integrators to quickly develop medical and health markets, and benefits the public with thermal imaging technology. GSTiR infrared camera core has standard configuration includes a 9.1mm lens, a 30pin standard interface (Type-C expansion board optional), and a medical temperature measurement specific SDK development package. The universal interface facilitates secondary development and assists users in quickly achieving more functions such as full screen temperature measurement and thermal image display.
