Thermal Imaging Pseudo Color
Pseudo color, also called false color, the thermal distribution of objects can be transformed into visual pictures by the infrared thermal imaging system and displayed on the monitor in grey level or pseudo color. Thus the temperature distribution of objects can be obtained. To make it easier for people to easily analyze a thermal image visually it is represented using a false colors representing the difference in temperature.
Different pseudo-colors are used in different industries because of their different visual displays. Below shows pseudo color images captured by GST uncooled thermal imaging camera. Let’s see the differences between them.
1. White Hot
White hot is the most commonly used false color. White indicates high temperature, and black indicates low temperature. It has strong applicability and is in line with the human eye observation habits, mainly used for observation.
2. Lava
In this picture, the white indicates high temperature and dark red indicates low temperature. Its entire palette uses warm colors. For ultra-high temperature targets, it is more in line with human visual viewing.
3. Ironbow
By showing heat distribution and subtle details through color, thermal anomalies and body heat can be quickly identified. With ironbow pseudo color, hotter objects appear as light warm colors, while cooler objects appear as deep cool colors. It is mainly used for temperature measurement.
4. Hot Iron
Red is used for high temperature, and cool color with higher resolution is used for low temperature. With hot iron color, high-temperature targets in the scene can be identified and the details of low-temperature targets can also be observed easily.
5. Medical
Medical color uses different colors to display small temperature differences, which is most suitable for scenes with small heat changes. Under low contrast conditions, objects and slight temperature changes can still be monitored. It is usually used in the medical field and can better display the temperature distribution of the human body.
6. Arctic
Compared with medical color, arctic color removes the low temperature part of medical purple and uses a cool blue, which can better reflect the temperature change of the scene
7. Rainbow1
It is similar to medical color, the proportion of warm colors of high temperature targets is reduced, and the proportion of cool colors is increased, which can better reflect the details of low temperature targets
8. Rainbow2
The transition of colors is reduced, and the ratio of warm and cool colors is moderate, which better reflects the high temperature and low temperature target details of the scene at the same time.
9. Red Hot
Use black and white at low temperature and eye-catching red at high temperature, which can quickly detect high-temperature targets, suitable for high-contrast environments, and find high-temperature targets accurately and quickly at night.
10. Black Hot
Contrary to white heat, warmer objects are displayed in black, and cooler objects are displayed in white. When observing high-temperature targets in outdoor scenes, the heat distribution of the target can be better observed.
